Are You Planning for 2012?

by Kecia Meyer | Jan 05, 2012

Now that the holidays are over and we welcomed in 2012, this is the perfect time to plan for the upcoming year.  If you are finding yourself too busy to plan ahead, you are not alone.  There is still time to sit down and put together your wish list with some of these points to consider:

  • Are you working within a specific budget?
  • Do you have a stack of internal requests for equipment?
  • Do you know how to get the most out of your available funds with equipment that will generate revenue?
  • How are you treated by your current vendors?  Is it a ‘what have you done for me lately’ relationship or are you always given a timely response?

PULSEConsultants is not like most equipment vendors and as it shows in our name; we are CONSULTANTS first and equipment vendors second.  Many will brag about their large inventory of equipment they can offer you.  However, the downside to that is a large part of what happened to our economy of late.  These vendors bought at one price, stored the equipment in their inventory and began to market them.  As the clock ticked…prices went down however, those that paid last quarter’s prices needed to recoup their investment so they sold their equipment at higher prices to secure their profit margins were met.  Also, there was no one taking into consideration YOUR needs and looking objectively at what is best for you?  Will the equipment provided not just do the job…but will it help to increase my revenue?  It is these type of questions that a real partner and consultant will ask you if they are sincerely attempting to assist you with your planning needs.  Here at PULSEConsultants, you will find this to be true by asking any one of our many clients.  Most of them have been with us for the 5 years we’ve been in business.  But look closer…our staff brings a following with them of their clients from over 25 years in the industry.  To be a part of TEAM PULSE, one must exhibit real customer service with a consultative approach.  All of our members have a proven track record of success; but that is measured by success FOR our clients!

TEAM PULSE PLANNING QUESTIONNAIRE:

  • What is my current inventory of equipment for my facility or department?
  • What is the current budget and is that budget annually or quarterly?
  • Are there other budgets that I can tap into?  i.e. Staff Budget vs. Department Budget?
  • What equipment do I need to procure and while this is the requisition I’ve been given; is there a better solution for my facility that would both do the job as well as increase revenues for us?
  • Have I addressed equipment efficiencies to patient care and will this purchase maximize technology’s effectiveness?
  • Have I had my consultant, partner and/or vendor perform a site visit to do a proper analysis, assess my needs, help me define the project scope if applicable and assist me in my forecasts?
  • Are there integration issues and/or limitations I should know about regarding this purchase?
  • Is my consultant/vendor/supplier offering me better than contract pricing?
  • Is there a demo option rather than new to help me save money?
  • What are the pros and cons if I go with refurbished or remanufactured with this particular purchase?
  • What are the warranties being offered and how readily available will parts and service people be should I need them?
  • Is training important to me with this purchase?
  • Will I be dealing with one contact person to coordinate my purchase, delivery, assembly, placement, integration, training and asset tagging if applicable?

We are also pleased to announce that we will have a new office and showroom starting in Q1 of 2012.  This will allow us to stock the type of equipment our clients ask us for to keep on hand just for them.  It also allows us to cater to our local clients more effectively.  By having a show room, they can come and “see” in real time what their new exam room, surgical suite or recovery room might look like.  Also, TEAM PULSE has aligned with many reputable Distributors and Manufacturers to be able to offer new and refurbished equipment from companies such as GE/Datex Ohmeda, Draeger/Siemens, Hill Rom, HP/Philips, Covidien/Valley Lab, Baxter, Smiths Medical, Zoll, Bar Ray, Medtronic/PhysioControl, Olympus and many others.

It’s not too late to Plan.  However, make sure you plan with the right people and get some real help where you need it most!

Special Note:  PULSEConsultants, LLC has expanded!  With the start of Pulse Consultants International, Ltd, TEAM PULSE is now poised to bring even more savings to our domestic U.S. clients. Because we sell larger volumes of equipment into the international market place, this helps bringing down our overall costs for equipment for our Domestic U.S. clients.  Tune in to next Month’s Blog as we will touch on the proper way to pick the right supplier to purchase quality refurbished medical equipment.
